Just down the road from Big Cottonwood Canyon amidst the strip malls is the funky roadside attraction Lone Star Taqueria.. Just look for a bumper sticker laden circa 70’s station wagon complete with a shark dorsal fin. If that doesn’t get your attention then the screaming lava colored neon words tacos and burritos will.

Lone Star was deservedly voted the best burrito by Utah’s Citysearch. You can chow down at Lone Star without breaking your wallet. They specialize in fresh fish tacos with a homemade jalapeno mayo. This will keep you coming back! As they say the burritos “come with everything”, they mean everything! All the ingredients are fresh from Chef Manuel’s homemade salsas and burrito and taco fixins, to the fish, chicken, beef, and pork. They even have cold cervezas! For those who may abstain there are the Mexican drinks, Jarritos. Try the Mango Jarrito.

Lone Star has sit down accommodations as well as a drive through. However, let it be known this is not fast food, it is soul food.
